English Grammar Book

A great resource for those needing a practical, concise and clear explanation of the principles and use of English Grammar.

The book is 145 pages divided into easy read chapters.

From the Author

I completed my “Masters in English” with “Awards Of College Colours” and “Roll Of Honour” in the sports field (professional boxer) and came to Australia on a scholarship in 2008. In Australia, I got the chance to meet people from all countries and do further English language research. This book is written after interviewing natives of many countries, having an English second language, and understanding the problems they face in the English language. This classical piece of work is an efficient tool for those who want to learn the basic logistics of the English language. It will significantly help to master skills in sentences building, formation, correct usage, and structure. In addition, it will work as a “One-Stop-Shop” for Grammarians.

It takes extensive time to complete this book due to my tight schedule and high volume of interviews from people worldwide. I spend lots of time (Ground Zero) at the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, and Flinders University (Australia) for my research work, even-thou I was never a student of these universities. Now that, despite voluminous odds, this book has happened, I have hopes and prayers regarding it.

I am fortunate that Navneet Kaur (Masters in English, Roll Of Honour Holder, functioned as strategic-Journalist in “The Tribune” Newspaper) scrutinize the manuscript and proposed expansions.

I am indebted to sharp-witted Advocate, Mr. Inderbir Singh S/O Mr. J.J Singh Hundal (Comdt.) for helpful thoughts and working on all legalities.

I wish to record my gratitude to my wife, Engr. Karamveer Kaur (M. tech), for help with graphics (pictures, tables). She was unstinted support at every corner with affection and analysis. It is reverential to admit that my father was the strongest pillar of support and guidance.

At last, I am obliged and fortunate that I got an opportunity to complete my research work (Masters) under the guidance of intellectuals like Professor, Mrs. Reetinder Joshi (Govt. College Ludhiana) and Prof. Kalia (Head of Dept. S.C.D.  Govt. College Ludhiana).

The Billionaire’s Club

Rong Liang is popular at Richmond’s Academy, but his music career could never take off by himself.

Gareth Wilson is new to the school, and his father can barely afford to pick him up at the end of the day.

Jenny Summers is reclusive, escaping into the world of music to avoid the world of reality.

And Humphrey Winters just doesn’t want to the there.

When these four strangers finally meet at the After-School Club, they’ll discover that they have more in common than they ever could have imagined, and in the process, their school year will be completely and utterly ruined.

About the Author

Zack Ferguson was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia where he lives with his family. He is an ideas man with a bizarre sense of humour and a love for creativity, music, and potentially voice acting. He is also a drummer, playing since he was six years old, and a part-time mash-up artist on YouTube and Instagram, who spends way too long perfecting his craft. In his early years he enjoyed creating games on a website called Scratch, but eventually realised that he was much more interested in telling the stories he made for them. Zack’s love for storytelling and creative writing grew throughout high school, where he finally found inspiration in his final year to put pen to paper to write his first novel: The Billionaire’s Club.

Adventures Through Covid

THE ART OF SUBCONCIOUS TRAVEL IN A TRANSCENDENTAL STATE

Parris Fotias has just flown home from a work trip through India. Eleven days later, COVID-19 is officially declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation. Soon after, the Australian Government closes its international border under Biosecurity Act 2015, essentially banning all Australians from travelling overseas.

Adventures Through COVID is a story of survival, reinvention and self-reflection. It is a personal odyssey that chronicles the frustrations of living through a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.

From the Author

The irony is, I have always wanted to publish a book, yet on this occasion, it was never my motivation.

Returning to Australia from India on February 29th, 2020, little did I realise that this would be (as of writing) my last trip abroad.

Throughout the month of March, as the severity of COVID-19 began to sink in, I felt compelled to reach out to as many of our clients and partners as possible, just to check in on their wellbeing.

So I started emailing them and by April 08th, 2020, these had somehow morphed into the Dear Diary series that you see today.

I initially had concerns that I would simply be an unwelcomed addition to their Inbox but was genuinely overwhelmed by the number of phone calls, emails and messages I received in reply.

Some just wanted to chat, some shared with me their own stories, while others just wanted to thank me for reaching out.

Yet I should have been thanking them, for their inspiration allowed me to relive adventures I had not thought about for years.

Travel is indeed a privilege and one that should never be taken for granted.

I Won’t Settle For Less

Tina was born in Holland and came out to Australia in 1950. Her family travelled in a caravan around Australia looking for work. Her parents were very poor and strangers in this land. Growing up without electricity or running water, poverty and violence made Tina a strong advocate for the working class and the disadvantaged.

By the time she was twelve her parents had separated and she was placed in a foster home for a period of time. By the age of fifteen she was supporting herself as a waitress, a telephonist, go-go dancer, singer, and house cleaner.

Over Tina’s life she experienced child sexual abuse, domestic violence and rape. She has never seen herself as a victim, Tina is a survivor and has always kept searching for a better life.

In 1975 Tina became a feminist and has been a political activist and an advocate for women and children’s safety for over forty years. Her life was often stressful especially when she became a single mother. Tina’s way of coping with her stress was to sing in bands around Adelaide. Tina was one of the original members of the women’s punk band the Red Meds in 1980 and she then sang in a women’s band called Modesty B Blazed. Later on, she sang in mixed gender bands and took on acting roles for the Junction Theatre Company.

Tina went to university at the age of 30 and became a social worker, community developer and then a narrative therapist.

In 2006 Tina started her journey with her partner, working and travelling around Australia, employed as a narrative therapist in remote areas around Australia. Tina sees herself as ‘a woman giving birth to myself. Now at 72 years old she is ready to tell her story.
